I've carried these bits on my van for the longest time. They are very handy because you can pick you size rather than trying to use a 6ft long bit. Well built and a great tool for anyone who is fishing wires.

Poor reviews that appeared to be based on 'incorrect' use of this device - particularly drilling at high speed - led me in hubris to believe I could succeed where others had failed. The shorter length and more flexible shaft by comparison to competitors' drills appealed to me. But my efforts succumbed to two very fundamental design flaws affecting this device.The first is that the spring-loaded collet that holds the bit in place is merely set by a hydraulic press (not brazed or welded) and it was knocked loose in use, undoing the connection between the bit and rod. Fortunately, it broke in the process of completing the hole and fell into the basement below, but the rod is now useless.My second attempt using the other rod included in the kit ended up getting left in the wall because the drill bit is shorter than the double plate I was drilling through and the top shoulder of the bit is square, causing it to permanently lodge when I was attempting to pull it to clear chips. Abandoned in place, I turned to a different brand, Klein, successfully.

First time I used the long shank it snapped on me. But the small one works great.

The design of the Greenlee 921 Quick Connect kit is brilliant. Makes it very easy to drill holes through fire blocks and top plates when fishing wires into an attic. The varying lengths of the different shafts make it more practical than standard D'Versibits. However, the shaft diameter is either too small or the quality of metal isn't up to snuff. After using on just two jobs, one shaft got twisted up and bent, and the other broke. There is a clear warning by Greenllee not to use a bit larger than the provided 3/4" auger. I followed the instructions and it still proved not strong enough to handle it. I have sucessfully used the Greenlee "D'Versibits" over the years and have never bent or broken a shaft. It's a shame. I was really excited about this kit and was even planning on buying the 24" shaft accessory for greater flexibility of situations. But, unless a change is made by Greenlee on shaft strength, just pass this kit up and keep using the D'Versibits.

My partner in our electric biz SWEARS by these! I've used his so much, I had to get my own set. The quick-change feature works great and the spring-steel shafts mean they can bend like one of those Dversibits, but with a huge bonus: you can change the bit on the end if it's dull or the wrong size!

After cutting a hole for fan box found ceiling joists were going the wrong way I drilled through five joists with two long extentions and one short one . Other flex bits would of wandered through the floor . The wire pulled back through with little chance of loosing it

In searching for a flexible drill bit, every single one I found had reviews that said "broke the first time I used it. I settled on the Greenlee kit because it had two extensions and it seemed like the bits can be removed and replaced.In preliminary testing, a battery powered 3/8 drill did not have adequate torque to turn this bit, so we used an electric half-inch drill that had plenty of torque.Yes, it broke the first time we used it, but I don't blame Greenlee. We drilled through a 4 X 4 with no problem. Then the bit went off course while it was in the wall and drilled into the edge of a metal window frame, where it jammed and broke the extension. It was so badly jammed that I had to open the wall and use vice grips to work the bit out.We then transferred the bit to the other extension in the kit and were able to finish the job with no further problems.While I can't comment on other brands, my feeling is that the Greenlee is up to the job, if you have an adequate drill motor and use it as intended. I think any flexible drill will break if it drills into something the shaft can't handle, and you often don't know what is in the wall until you hit it and break the drill. So, while I think the Greenlee is an adequate product, I'm not sure of flexible drill bits are a good idea for D.I.Y. users.
