The brushes came in a leather package which is quite fancy. Number 8 brush came broken. It can be glued back, but my feeling is that brushes are a bit cheaply made.

So just got these today.... they are smaller than the same size in my prinston brushes, that being said they are decent cheap brush for travel. I can get a decent thin line with them... thick line depletes rather quickly. They don’t hold a lot of water and pigment but do an adequate job. For the just under $12 sale price was a decent deal for travel brushes. You are not going to paint a masterpiece with these generic brushes, but a decent set for beginners and or practice exercises.(Once the tips wear out I plan on trying to replace the brush part with better brushes, no harm if I fail.)

Looks nice. Hope to like them but quality control issues. Received 2 of the same size brush. WTF. Instead of a size 12 got 2 size 8 which i don’t need 2 size 8 brushes. Not very happy about this. Was really looking forward to these brushes.

3 good size brushes in small leather travel case. Fits easily into a daily paint bag. Comes to a fine point, holds a lot of water (watercolor). Very good value for price.

First of all, for the price these are great brushes to paint with. I was very surprised when testing them out initially how well they performed. The only flaw however are the casings - one of the brushes (#8) is so difficult to open that I can't open it with my hands, I need to use something with a good grip such as my dishwashing gloves to be able to open it. Same goes for trying to close it again after using it. The casing on that specific brush flares out which makes it difficult to place the cap on top of it to close the brush. I cut off a strip from an old dishwashing glove and placed it with the brushes in the travel pouch which seems to help. That way I can open and close the brush without problems. All in all amazing brushes, but be sure to check them out and test them before you are off somewhere to paint.

These are wonderful little brushes and I highly recommend them. Easy to use and clean easily and have a lovely little portable leather case. For every artist that likes to travel or a plein air artist or even just keep some painting supplies on hand in their knapsack should have these.

The brushes don't look like on the picture. The wooden part is black, the bristles are not like in the picture as well. On the picture they look like synthetic bristles, which usually have a good snap and hold their point. I was not expecting much, but I was very disappointed, because you can not paint any thin lines. The brushes are very soft and don't hold the tip. They can be used for bigger washes maybe but not for detailed painting. So the different sizes make no sense.The metal handles wiggle a bit, but not to much. Ok for the price.I would not buy them again.

The brushes are good, as expected. The design of the case is a problem because the front flap should be about an inch longer to keep it under the leather strap to stay closed. I've put a wide rubber band over it to keep it closed.

This brush set is part of my urban sketching kit. The brushes are good quality and a great item for the travelling artist.
