Very much needed book!!!
This book is very good for me. Answered most of my questions, giving me a better understanding of the diet that is best for me to follow. I thank Dr. Steven Gundry.

A bit repetitive but incredibly informative
I cannot wait to try the Keto Code program. I hope it yields better weight loss results and overall health improvement for me than the traditional keto diet that I have been on although it has been pretty good and for someone who likes cooking, the keto diet has been, in a way, fun.One reason why I wanted to read this book was because I read about Dr. Gundry's finding on the role of MCT oil in the keto diet, namely, that it might not be necessary to follow the traditional high-fat, low-carb keto diet to produce and use ketones. My biggest challenge has been social settings - I have had to break IF, and take carb blockers before lunch and dinner when eating out with my boyfriend who loves carb-loaded food (and wants me to join him by eating similar foods) every weekend. I don't want to get obsessed with being 'in keto' by using the keto test strips, but then I have been left unsure whether I am really in keto.I am still reading this book (almost over) and have not tried the Keto Code program yet, but what I tell you about this book is it is so incredibly informative with science-backed evidence on why we should not need to restrict carbs intake, which fats to eat (instead of any fats in large content) to facilitate ketones production and all other benefits that come with such a way of eating, including the ability to eat foods with lots of fibers, which tends to be missing in the traditional keto diet but is so important in maintaining health.Yes, it does get a bit repetitive with the importance of the mitochondria uncoupling and how it happens, but I love to learn new things and found this really interesting. He does explain pretty complex concepts well - and since these are complex concepts, they won't be explained adequately in 10 pages.A lot of the things in this book make sense to me, and frankly, it has been such a comfort to know that I may - and probably should - be able to relax my dietary restrictions, especially since I am not overweight, just wanting to shed some weight to regain confidence in myself.

Love Dr Gundry
I appreciate how Dr. Gundry breaks down the basic mechanics of how to feed our bodies well and what is involved. He provides lists of what is beneficial and how to make the most out of our efforts, supplements and food choices in order to optimize our health and nutrition. He explains a lot so that it makes it easier to understand how our bodies are supposed to function.

Testimonial: It works.
I just redacted my entire previous review, in which I had several harsh, but not entirely accurate criticisms.I had not yet finished the book at that time. I was just massively frustrated with the belaboring of that silly night club metaphor. There is a good deal of novel information in these pages.I decided to restrict my eating patterns drastically for lent this year, adding a few different herbs, supplements, detox techniques etc. so I incorporated some of the tactics from the book once i finished it.I am uncoupling like a crazy person. I eat very little, I feel very warm, my aura, you can see it. Or something like that anyway. I feel awesome. And I seem to have hit the weight loss tipping point. Every few days, I’m down 2 pounds. It never occurred to me to look for cheese at Trader Joe’s.

Interesting concepts but loaded with oxalates
For someone very concerned about the plant toxins lectins, I don't understand how another plant toxin, oxalates, are ignored. A large portion of the recommended foods are high in oxalates. Perhaps with a great deal of effort you could come up with your own cross-referenced food list that might follow the key paradigms here and are also low or medium oxalate diet - and then you'd still have to come up with all the recipes yourself. I'd hope for a book that integrates both forms of plant toxins and key mitochondrial uncoupling strategies. I'll still try to incorporate some of the strategies to see if it might enhance metabolic flexibility, but do so with the lower oxalate foods.

Easy read and makes a lot of sense
Enjoyed reading the book. I’m a slow reader and still was able to complete this book in a couple of days. I loved the science backed data and how well it was applied or explained so that you better understood how the mechanics of your metabolism works in relation to the foods you eat. Everyone can see from the people in their lives that a calorie in vs a calorie out is not necessarily true and this book explains why. Looking forward to applying what I’ve learned and seeing real results.

Best health book I ever purchased
I have always eaten very well, I have listened to my doctors with no real results, and tried every healthful diet without results. This was not only easy to follow, had a list of foods that he recommends and doesn't recommend, even had a couple of interesting recipes, including a naan cheese bread and biscuits, (which is something you miss when you are keto). I am getting results! I was borderline diabetic, my doctor started to threaten statins and I have Hoshimoto's thyroid disease which the inflammation from that autoimmune keeps me from losing weight, which was probably why I had all the other issues.I have been practicing Dr Gundry's philosophy for three months now, I have lost 10 lbs and not only has the inflammation gone down, but my memory is much better, I was beginning to ask the doctor questions about early onset alzheimer's.My husband has also lost his gut bulge. This is working for me, that's the only true review I can give.
