Q: What is the diameter of the plastic body of the measure? Thanks.

The diameter if 2 inches and is 1/2 inch thick, excluding the thickness of the blue button for retracting the tape.

Q: How durable are these? Also, I will need to use this with patients, so it will be wiped down after patient visits. Will the numbers come off?

If measuring patients lying in bed, it will rip apart if pulled out from under the patient instead of sitting them up, or rolling them and moving it out of the way, and rolling them back over. Where I work, people are lazy, and rather than doing what I mentioned, after obtaining abd. girth measurements, they try to just pull the tape from beneath a patient, and being flimsy plastic, it tears… Where I work, allowing other staff to borrow for use you’ll go through 2-3 per month; otherwise, if used and cared for appropriately one of these will last for years. Other than replacing them all the time, the hardest part of owning these is laying them down and turning your head, then it walks away. Which also requires replacing them I guess… So there’s that… Luckily they are small, light, cheap to replace, and make a noisy racket banging off all the other items in your pockets when you walk alerting sleeping coworkers that you are nearby.
