A good addition to the Ring Alarm for Conservatories and SunRooms
Any room that has an expanse of glass will benefit from this sensor.Just please realise that it cannot be tested using YouTube videos of breaking glass!Until you witness a double-glazed unit failing, you will have no idea of the sound it makes. I have been unlucky enough to witness a £650 pane failing and I was scratching my head for a long time trying to work out what it was. It sounded nothing like you would expect and nothing like the sound of a breaking bottle or pane of single glass being hit with a hammer.Ideally this is the last line of defence, so ensure you cannot do more in the way of physical security first, security lighting second, Magnetic Door and Window Sensors third and this little beauty last for the full "belt and braces" effect.Added just like all other sensors to the Ring Alarm System, there is no setting up required. It is basically just a microphone carefully tuned to the frequency of failing double-glazed units. It affixes to most surfaces the same as PIR and Mag Sensors with double-sided tape (supplied) although screws can be used. I fitted mine into a high humidity Conservatory on a wood plinth with the tape supplied and it's still there a year later.Batteries are two very simple AA Alkalines and are easy to replace, though in a year, they're showing up as still good. You can set it to be active while at home, but you do risk the microphone picking up similar frequencies and sounding the alarm. Much better just to have it arm in Home (night) and Away modes only and not in Disarmed Mode. Now all we need is for Ring to sell their Fire and Co2 Listener and Water Sensors in the UK and we'll have a system that echos what the Americans have and not a poor neighbour's version we have now.

Ring break glass sensor
Havent tested it with breaking glass but picks up forks dropping in sink, seems a good product to add to Ring alarm system.

Possibly a great product
This is one of those items/products that you purchase and hope not to use. The item itself is very easy to setup as long as you already own a ring alarm system. This will not work as a free stand alone product. The sensor is easy to integrate with your current ring alarm, it's just a question of finding it under sensors, removing the battery tab then letting it be discovered by the ring app. Placement options are either fixing it to the wall/ceiling or high on a flat surface near to the window/s to be monitored. You then have the option of using the included screws or sticky pads to afix in place; there is also the usual options for how you want it to be configured and thus activate your house alarm. The only downside I've discovered is that there is no test button so there's no way to actually check that it works, instructions state prerecorded breaking glass sounds won't work; the app states its working/monitoring but without breaking any glass its hard to confirm this 100%. Hence possibly a great product.

Perfect idea for a conservatory
Great addition to the Ring system. So far battery life seems good. Connected easily to the system and looks decent with same appearance as a smoke detector (and similar size). Easy to use and to link up. Haven’t seen it working for broken glass yet but I hope never to!

Great Product from the Ring family
The Ring Alarm Glass Break Sensor is a fantastic addition to my home security system. It was easy to install and integrates seamlessly with my Ring setup. The sensor is highly responsive and provides peace of mind by alerting me instantly to potential break-ins. The range and sensitivity are impressive, detecting glass breaks from a good distance. Highly recommended for added security!

Extra piece of mind
I bought this for our downstairs office to protect patio doors and window. Definitely works, a mirror fell off the wall and our ring alarm went off straight away

A great addition to my Ring Alarm system
Having invested in a Ring alarm system a few months ago to protect my garden room I was keen to expand the monitoring above and beyond motion and door / window sensors. The glass break sensor is pretty discrete (it blends well on a white ceiling), simple to add to the system via the Ring App and works well (I tested it by breaking a glass).I think that pretty much covers everything in the garden room now and it ties in well with the Ring camera!
