It took me about 20 minutes to cobble together a replacement circuit for a six AA cell automatic garbage can lid in the kitchen. I’ve been waiting for something like this for quite some time. Dialed it right into the voltage I need with a single 18650 battery.

This board allows to build a power supply from 5 to ~12V from a single lithium cell. It has a charger and a switching boost regulator. The output is adjustable - but make sure that you check the settings before use - my was set to 6V by default. Unlike other boards, the regulator never turns off and maintains the output voltage when battery is charged. There is no power switch. Because it does not have a "sleep" mode, the regulator operates in low frequency mode without load. It slowly discharges the battery with the current of ~100 microamperes without load. The board is very handy to power devices consuming 1-100mA - it will not turn off after 30 seconds as other power banks do. But it can go up to ~1A at 9V... It can be easily modified to add a power switch.

Used one to eliminate a 6v alkaline battery pack and with a 3.7v lion battery still have battery backup with proper voltage output. Tons of great uses! If it had JST connector for the battery and screw terminal for the output would be 6 stars.
