Used this to get fuel out of a motorbike and lawnmower and does as it is supposed to do, no issues.

I needed to transfer diesel from a fuel tank in my wheelchair adapted van, as I had recently filled it but unfortunately the van had to be replaced. So I bought this pump for the job. What a complete waste of money!The kit arrived with the plastic hose folded in many places, and it was totally compromised as a result. I struggled to try to open it out, so it could actually be used, but the embedded kinks in the hose made siphoning a major problem - it was almost impossible to get any flow going, as the liquid was fighting to get through a very narrowed tube. I had to keep opening the hose up, as it collapsed repeatedly, where the various kinks were. Sending the hose folded is a huge mistake and compromised the use of this tool!Still, I really needed to get the diesel out of the tank, so I persevered. The process was agonisingly slow, and became a real chore. Suction is negligible, it was almost impossible to get any siphoning done, and trust me, I had everything arranged to help the process go smoothly as it's not the first time I have had to use the process to recover fuel from a vehicle. It certainly didn't go well.I had to give up completely before I could even fill one 20 litre can, because the hand pump bulb simply stopped working. It collapsed, stopped inflating, and so the whole process was a complete failure. This has actually cost me a small fortune, as I have had to sacrifice almost a full tank if diesel instead of being able to transfer it to a new vehicle, before the old van had to be replaced. Nightmare.My only advice is don't waste your money - this is absolutely useless, not fit for purposes, and I cannot recommend it in any way. The way it is sent out is a disaster, by the way - the hose should NEVER be folded, as it compromised the way it could be used properly. And it simply didn't last in general. Useless.AVOID, unless you are a masochist and like wasting money and time.

Initially this unit seemed exactly what I needed. Easy to use, although the pipe provided was of poor quality and kinked very easily. I swapped it for hose pipe and all was well. Today I tried to use it again and the valve has obviously failed and it does not work at all. It's not fit for purpose. They say the return window has closed!!! I will be contacting amazon to try and get a refund.. Amazon accepted a return and refunded very promptly.
