So far so good, Like this cam alot!!
Ive seen some decent negative reviews on this camera and not sure why? Perhaps lack of understanding or the software was under developed at the time?Anyways, ive only had this cam for 1 day. Setup was a breeze, install the mobile app on your phone, create an account, scan QR code on the back of the camera to add your cam to your account and configure through the app. I think setup took about 10 mins at most. The big pro i love about this cam is it’s versatility. You do not need a cloud subscription to use this cam, although it does appear Reolink offers a cloud subscription through the app under SIM services,if you wish. You can purchase an SD card separately to install into the cam which i recommend as you will not be able to review past recordings/ events without one. You can still use without an SD card, but would only view live. This cam also supports FTP which is GREAT!! I have mine setup to store recordings on a NAS server on my home network AND store them direct to the SD card in the cam. This cam is also compatible with Google Assistant, i can view this cam from both my google assistants. The included solar panel works very well. I installed this cam on a severe gray cloudy day and the panel still received enough UV rays through a dreary cloudy day to charge the cam back up to 100%.I saw another reviewer complain about the clarity or ability to see a car’s license plate. Not sure why you would expect precision zoom on a camera that doesnt exactly offer or advertise that.In any case this camera is perfect for my needs, gives me a birds eye view of my driveway. Also worth mentioning, once you pair your cam with the App, you can remote view your cam through Reolink when not at home. Tested this a few times by disconnecting my phone from my home network and was able to view the cam with no issues. Motion alerts are also on point and very sensitive.. still tweaking the sensitivity, this will notify you if a bird in its nest blinks. I loved this cam so much i purchased a 2nd one last night to monitor my backyard. I love the wide view you get, where as youd need at least 2 cams to get that kind of view.**EDIT** After 1 month:The camera is still good, but wanted to add something regarding the Solar Panel and after alot of googling... The Solar Panel that comes with this WILL NOT charge the camera if the temp falls below approx 35 degrees F even if the panel is in direct sunlight. Which is not terrible, you just need to make sure you are not accessing the camera all the time or motion is constantly setting it off to help prolong battery life between warmer sunnier days. Just an FYI for potential buyers. Still very satisfied with my purchase. Just wanted to give a heads up so you are not doing pointless troubleshooting.

Wireless coverage for every side!
I’m not sure why this doesn’t have better reviews. I can’t speak for longevity, but most of my Reolinks have made it through several years. I got my first Reolink in 2020.Pros:These might possibly be one of the easiest Reolink cameras to set up. I have set them up on a couple different properties.Wireless.8 MP (4MP stitched together?)ColorX with 1/1.8 CMOS; great night color. The motion sensing range is probably the highest out of their battery cameras, so far.128 GB of micro SD storage.the siren went off when people were walking on the other side of the street…. Unheard of for the older battery cams.Cons:It does eat a lot of battery if you have the sensitivity high. Make sure you charge your solar panel and camera before you mount them.If you put it in near a corner, you’ll wash out part of the 180°.It’s relatively easy to wash out parts of the view. Bright lights, or light reflecting off of walls/siding will wash it out to an extent. It’s a given that some video will be grainy from a distance. You’ll be able to make out good details up close, but just expect to see moving figures at a distance. Some of the settings can use upgrades, but that would complicate things for people looking for some easy UI.It would also be nice if the vertical angle was larger, like the duo 2 or 3.I can easily recommend this camera to cover the perimeter of a property (easily done with 4-6 cameras. Try that with 120° FOV cams)... Battery powered cams always make a good backup for coverage, and you can definitely cover every angle with these. If you plan on using them with other Reolink cameras, use the ones with 120° FOV for sirens. This camera can be highly sensitive, and with the coverage it gives, your neighbors might get annoyed until you work out the settings.I’ve experienced no lag with my newer Reolink Wi-Fi cameras. It’s a good value for the price, with above average functionality. Solid 8/10.If you’re looking for the most crystal clear battery powered cam, this is definitely high on the list, but you could still get something with higher definition. If you need something incredibly clear, get a 12MP POE camera.

Took Some Work To Get It Mounted and Working
Installed today. Cinder block/stucco house = makes it harder to mount camera. Mollies and screws provided = too small & cheap. Had to modify own mollies and grind down own screw heads to fit mounting bracket back. Hard to get a solid grip on ball swivel in mounting bracket to set and hold camera angle. Camera is well made with quality materials. The included solar panel was easy to set up/install; plenty of cable for power to camera. It too is well made. Instructions for camera/mobile connection are OK but not great. How to use the app instructions are no better than Apple instructions. More to come when I've used it for a while. Update for 1/27/25: Ran into Reolink registration web site issues. Submitted ticket. Customer Service rep's answer was the most comprehensive and professional I've ever seen PLUS he actually took action! A rare thing these days. Today Reolink also responded to my initial product review on Amazon and made things right between us. Their Customer Service Team is, honestly, superb! UPDATE FOR 02/10/25: The solar panel stopped charging the camera. Being replaced under warranty after having to verify the problem and try their suggestions for a fix. I'd now give this camera, solar panel and all mounting hardware a -1. The Customer Service Team still gets a 5 ! FINAL UPDATE 02/15/25: The camera just quit responding to the app. Customer Service Team sending a replacement. They are good. This camera is not.
