Bought this as a gift

Bought this as a gift for a friend who collects old coins. He was very pleased with the quality of the collection book and that it is fire resistant.

Good for protecting your collection

The binder feels well-made and durable, with plenty of space for a growing collection. The 300 pockets for coins and 36 sleeves for paper money offer ample storage options. The fireproof feature with aluminum foil lining is a nice touch, though I can't personally vouch for its effectiveness at 5200°F. It does provide some peace of mind for protecting valuable items. The pages turn easily, and the coin sheets display pieces nicely.A few minor gripes: I wish it came with more coin pages - seems a bit stingy there. Also, while it's great for storage, the bulky size might not be ideal if you're looking for something portable. Overall, it's a good option for serious collectors who prioritize protection and organization over portability.

I was looking for something not as it is expensive as a safe finish works really well.

It works very well I will probably buy another one.

Sturdy binder. Bank note sheet possibly acid-free. Coin sheet uncertain

The plastic sheets:The product description doesn't say the type of plastic these are made of.As a non-collector or expert, I have a cup of neat looking coins I’ve been meaning to store properly.A quick search showed that when I’m looking for “acid free” plastic I’m really looking for chemically stable enough plastic that won’t damage my collection. Plastics that are chemically stable include: archival polyester, polypropylene, and polyethylene. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is what we'd want to avoid.I learned that you could conduct a float test in water to help determine what kind of plastic it is. I cut up a small section of both the bank note sheet and the coin sheet and separately put them in a cup of water. The bank note sheet floated consistently (even when being poked) so it at least ruled out it being made of PVC. The coin sheet sank consistently so it could possibly be made of PVC, but it could also be made of archival polyester which would also sink in water.---Bank note sheet - May not be PVC. I trust it. This sheet loads from the top which is nice.---Coin sheet - Could possibly be PVC or some other kind of plastic. The binder:The binder advertises water resistance, dust proof, thermal insulated, and fireproof. It closes well and the lining looks like the inside of a lunch bag so I can believe it is dust proof and thermal insulated. To test the fireproof aspect, I ran a match over the front of the binder in a safe setting. The match flame left these ashy tracks (see picture), but didn't melt and wouldn't catch at all on the binder. The water resistance was tested when I used a damp rag to scrub the ashy flame tracks. It cleaned off well and it's not noticeable where I burned it (see picture). It said water resistant and not water proof so I didn't try submerging it.---binder fireproof - The main body of the front and back can at least withstand the heat of a match. I didn't test the sides which are clothy.---binder water resistant - The main body of the front and back are water resistant. I didn't test the sides.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I like it enough as a non-collector. The pages turn easily and the coin sheets hold my coins well and display it nice, but I'll likely eventually swap the coin sheets for other coin sheets that I know for certain are made from proper plastic. The binder seems sturdy enough for me.

Worked well, fireproofing is questionable

The outside part that is silicone is definitely flame proof. The sides appear to be a plain cloth that the zipper is attached to. I didn't attempt to test it with a flame. Seems like any fire touching the sides is likely to get through but should provide some limited heat and flame protection. The binder part is a solid d ring which doesn't have a lever at the ends. You just pull or push a ring. Inserts are nice. Description does not say if they are PVC which is pretty important. They seem stiff enough that they are probably not. The flaps are a necessity if you're putting bare coins in the pocket. No problems with split seams or misalignment.Wish it came with at least one more of each of the coin pages. Why skimp on the most important part?Recommended if you're not too worried about direct fire protection.

Excellent value because it comes with PP acid free pages.

Good quality binder and the pages are PP material and acid free!
