A whole new world!! Just wish it had a “lost” feature lol
Incredible! Just wish it had a feature for if it’s lost… lolI used this for a few months with no connectivity issues! It always worked, the magnification was INSANE, and as a grown adult with two kids I still found it so interesting and entertaining! I would check different plants and just various things for hours 😅. I used it so much that I actually lost it! I have looked EVERYWHERE for months now, but it’s nowhere to be found and with Spring here and the garden getting busy, I desperately NEED it!! I wish it had a feature on the app that could make the microscope beep or something so you could track it down! Like the little key fobs they make for your tv remote, keys, etc. I swear, if I can ever spare the money for another one of these, I’m also going to buy a tracker to attach to it so I never lose it again! These past couple weeks I keep finding myself in situations saying “ugghhh, if ONLY I HAD MY MICROSCOPE!!” Like the other day my preschooler had a splinter that was causing a lot of pain, but was so tiny I could barely see it! And I can’t tell if my houseplants have spider mites so I have to clean every leaf by hand, and there are so many neat things outside in nature I want to look at up close! 😩😩😩But if you are on the fence, JUST GET IT! You will be amazed at what EVERYTHING looks like under a microscope!

Good value for the cost
Great value for the money. Love that we can take pictures and record videos from our phone. We raise monarchs and use this to see the teensy-tiny eggs

It's not a fancy microscope but it works.
Considering the price, it's ok. It takes practice to zoom in on your specimen. Best to use the stand. Hand holding at such close range is difficult to hold steady. It's neat that you can take a pic on your phone. But enlarging it on the phone, the resolution doesn't hold up. I was trying to see insect infestation on some of my plants. Fun to play with.

Cheap junk
The plastic holder broke after about the tries. Junk, going back for refund - AFTER SEEING MY ORIGINAL REVIEW THE SELLER CONTACTED ME AND ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THE ITEM I RECEIVED WAS "SUBSTANDARD" AND OFFERED ME A REPLACEMENT OR A GIFT CARD. SINCE I NO LONGER NEED THE ITEM I WILL ACCEPT THE GIFT CARD. I WILL PURCHASE THIS ITEM AGAIN IF NEEDED NOW THAT THE SELLER HAS BE VERY RESPONSIVE TO THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM.

Absolute Garbage, now that MaxSee doesn't work
Garbage - Totally agree with other "1 star" reviewers. This scope WAS good for WiFi while MaxSee was working. Now, it is a paperweight. I have tried all other apps (Android), and nothing, including the one recommended by Takmly, will work more than 2 seconds before freezing and disconnecting. Too bad, it was good while it lasted. Now it goes into the trash, and I am looking for one of the competitors (that will work).Let me clarify something -At best, it as, in my opinion, a "toy". The adjustment dials are WAY too sensitive, and you really have to have this mounted on something for it to be usable. For coins, on a stable base, where you can eventually set the focus on a specific point and swap coins (not moving the camera), it works well. Move the object, not the camera.More 'clarification' - to give you some idea of the sensitivity of the adjustment dials - on a 'regular' microscope, you could turn a dial maybe 3-5 full times to adjust the same that this does in maybe 1/2 turn. There is no fine tuning unless you are really lucky. For anything else (like looking at trichomes on a growing plant), it is close to useless. You have to be REALLY lucky to hold the camera still, at the right distance, at the right spot, for more than a second to have a chance to snap a photo. Again, a tripod mount would help here, but it was more of a challenge to use than it was worth. To be completely fair - IF you are hooking this up WIRED to a COMPUTER (NOT a phone, NOT using Wifi), and you are using the base (NOT handheld), and you are looking at something like coins, paper money, or fabric that you can slide into the focal area, you should be ok. Wireless, however, go find something else.Update 8/12/24 - after re-reading the review above, I do stand by what I said. I purchased this device when it DID work - when MaxSee worked. I used it for coins, stamps, and observing trichomes. While WILDLY sensitive and almost impossible to use if holding in your hand (I purchased a microphone stand to mount it on so it would be stable for looking at plants), it will work if mounted on a stand, AND connected by a wire to your computer. The wireless connectivity (the only reason I purchased this particular microscope) disappeared when MaxSee stopped working. You would think the company (Takmly) would develop and support their own software for this device, instead of relying on someone else.
