Had a plastic smell at first but aired out just fine. Got fold creases but still seems to lay flat so hopefully over time it will straighten out. I bought to go over a cheap table cover I bought just to protect my grandma's dinner table I inherited. I have a lot of kids in my home constantly so have to keep it covered.
