Great value bike computer

Recently purchased a used (2015) bike with a power meter so I needed a bike computer to connect and send power readings. Did not want to spend $200 -$500 for one from the “name brand” companies. This Cycplus unit seems well made and has a sturdy feel. Comes with a rubber (silicone?) cover which gives it a non slip grip and sleek matte black finish.Came mostly charged but plugged it in to charge it before syncing devices. Don’t know how long a full charge takes. Instructions are a bit sparse as others have said.Buttons to change settings one the bottom edge are stiff but positive enough. Screen is clear and numbers are big enough to read even in bright sunlight. My bike had a Garmin mount which this unit fit perfectly.Synced to power meter and heart rate monitor very quickly. Spin crank and 4-5 rotations later. Cadence and power readings show up. Heart rate shows up once you are close enough to computer. I installed my old Cateye V3 computer to compare values.Cadence and speed 100% matchDistance which is via GPS within 1-2 miles match over 30 mile rideRide time seemed to be off a little but not sure yet. I believe the ride time pauses if you stop mid ride. My old computer did not do thatHeart rate accuracy is a function of the sending device but it was mostly on pointDoes not calculate calories burned. So I have to track that on Map My Ride appOther entertaining readings are grade incline positive value for uphill or negative value for downhill. Max and average values as well as a few other data points I don’t use.For the money you get a ton of information which has made my rides more informative and funI did not want to have GPS turn by turn info so this was not an issue for me.

Excellent customer support

I bought this unit to replace an old, wired cyclometer that gave speed and distance and not much else. I wanted more information during a ride, especially cadence numbers, and the Cycplus does this for one-third to one-sixth the cost of Garmin or Wahoo units. The Cycplus has a large screen with big numbers, which is important for my aging eyes. The first unit I received was a dud; it couldn't get a GPS signal and so none of the features worked. Rather than return it to Amazon, I emailed Steven at Cycplus customer service. He responded to my email within a day and sent a replacement unit that arrived three days later. The new unit picks up a GPS signal just fine.Though I can't thoroughly test the replacement on the bike because of bad weather, I can give a five-star rating for customer support.I'll update this review after I have had a chance to ride with it and to try out speed/cadence sensors with the device. In response to other reviews: to set the wheel circumference, there is a chart on page 36 of the manual that gives the numbers you should enter based on the type of wheel your bike has. Use the number in the "mm" column.Update: I've had a chance to take the replacement unit out for rides. Without any sensors, the speedometer feature works pretty well. It can fluctuate a bit with the GPS signal, +/- 1 or 2 mph when it flicks but it seems to be okay most of the time. It worked OK even when I was climbing a hill at a slow speed (5-7mph).I purchased some Garmin v2 speed and cadence sensors to use with the unit. As mentioned in other reviews, I pair the sensors to the Cycplus unit one at a time and didn't run into any problems. With the speed sensor the speed reading fluctuates less. One issue is that with all the measurments - speed via GPS or sensor, cadence - there's a lag of about a second or two between the time you do something on the bike and the time it is reflected on the Cycplus display. That's just the nature of the way these things work, they need to measure you over time a bit in order to figure out how fast you're doing it.I tried out the smartphone app on a Google pixel phone. It was able to sync with the Cycplus unit and download the ride data without issue and display the ride data on my phone screen. The GPS route recorded by the Cycplus is of comparable accuracy as the same ride recorded via my phone GPS - sometimes one has a momentary glitch the other one does not, and vice-versa. The elevation gain also seems fairly consistent across rides. The smartphone app will also sync your ride data with Strava or TrainingPeaks (those are the only two apps supported), but I haven't tried this out.For my purposes of seeing data during a ride, and recording routes for later review, the Cycplus unit is working well so far.

Nice display

The unit looks and works nicely. My only issue was with mounting to handle bars. The mount was too big for the bar, needed to wrap with tape first and then tighten down.

What a great inexpensive bike computer!

First, Steven at customer service was of great help! When the rubber band broke dropping my cadence sensor I chose not to return home for another rubber band but tried just sticking it inside my right sock. Worked like a charm and that’s how I utilize it all on all my rides. When I sent a text to Cycplus Steven promptly replied and offered to send a replacement band at no charge. For two weeks I tried unsuccessfully to get the odometer and timer to work, watching multiple YouTube videos for info. Frustrated so I sent Steven another text asking for help. In less than 24 hours he responded to let the GPS connect and then press the left button. Voila! Now I don’t have to rely on Fitbit and my iPhone which tends to overheat and malfunction before completing a 25 mile ride.So I really like it and appreciate Steven’s prompt responses. Next, to download Zoss to my iPhone.
