Industrial quality and craftsmanship-EXTRA TOUGH
These are my personal favorite locking bit holders because the locking mechanism is easier to use than any other. Bits easily insert and it’s automatically locked and it stays unlocked when you pull it forward. True one handed operation. Wera makes very high quality products and this is no different. I own several of these in different lengths and have used them for years without any problems. I even use them in my most powerful impact drivers and they’ve held up perfectly well. The collar is steel with hard plastic rings (black and green) on the center portion of the exterior. The black and green rings on the outside are not fixed so you can hold them safely to steady the bit holder and they wont spin in your fingers as the bit holder spins while driving fasteners. Works with 1”(25mm) insert bits and power bits. To insert a bit you can simply insert the bit easily and it will be locked regardless of where the locking collar is positioned but if it is open in the forward position the action of inserting a bit will also slide it back into locked position. To release the bit you pull the collar forward and the bit will pop out part of the way while still being held from shooting onto the floor by the magnet. When the collar is forward the bit is loose and held only by the magnet and can easily be removed with little effort. The magnet is in full contact with bits when the collar is locked and is very strong. Enough to hold 2.5” (70mm) long screws onto a bit easily. The steel collar is tapered and in the locked position is far enough away from the end of the holder that it doesn’t get in the way for most driving applications. Toe-nail style screwdriving or driving screws at an angle to the surface of the material is not a problem with this bit holder. I hope this is helpful.

No Wobble. worth
Exactly what I was looking for, a WOBBLE FREE quick-connect. Now my drill's chuck has the most wobble. This locks the bit so easily and firm that I can never tell when it's locked. It sucks the bit into itself and locks without you applying any force. The click/bump is almost undetectable, but it's locked.Removing with one hand is a bit easier than normal, but still requires some finger positioning. I can't mindlessly yank on the end like I want to.This is for 1/4" hex bits and will lock both the standard bit (series 1), and the 'quick-connect' bits (series 4), and probably locks any hex bit better than HomeDepot/Lowes crap.NOTE: Wera sells 2 versions with the same model numbers(889/4/1) "Rapidaptor universal holder for bits with 1/4" hexagon drive"(889/4/1 K) "Rapidaptor universal holder with ring magnet for bits with 1/4" hexagon drive"Apparently this model(non-K) is the non-ring-magnet version, but it still has a magnet in the bottom where the bit sits(like normal bit holders). I'm not really sure what the 'magnet-ring' is on the K version. The green and black plastic rings feel weak. I know they are meant to spin freely, so you can hold it there, but they are definitely the cheapest feeling piece of this. Tiny amount of play, I don't think the purpose of these rings are worth the cheap feeling.

Super chuck
Used it for everything from door and lock installation to wiring and electrical. Working fantastic so far! I thought the magnetic pull would be stronger for screws sticking to the bit but I think it’s mainly to hold a bit in place- having said that it still really grips a screw very well, even up to 4” deck screws. I tried it as a test, you have to shake it to get it to fall off. The collet design and how it holds a bit in place is perfect 👌 a+++++. Extremely happy with this purchase.Haven’t used it but a few days so we’ll see about longevity. Wouldn’t hesitate to buy again if I broke it though.

Decent quality, not great value
I like buying high end tools, but this one is not that much better than the cheaper Chinese/Taiwanese version. I think they can make a better connector. It is more balanced and spins "true" compared to the cheaper ones, but still not perfect.
