Got as a gift for my daughter. She loves it. Easy to use. Very portable. Good sound and value for the money. No issue with skipping. Very sturdy and easy to use features.

I got this because my Crosley turntable has an issue with the belt where it'll randomly squeal and mess up the recording. I'm always leery of trying new brands of electronics I'm not familiar with, but after reading a number of reviews and also looking at what some of the tech reviews it got online, I figured I'd give it a shot. I'm not disappointed in the slightest. While I can tell there's a very minute different in the sound between this unit and my old Crosley, it wasn't enough that it's super noticeable. You have to really be listening for it in order to tell, and let's face it, unless you're an audiophile, you're mostly going to be listening for the music anyway. This unit is very easy to set up and works great with Audacity. The lever which raises and lowers the needle goes down very slowly, so it's very gentle when starting to play the album. My only major complaint with this is that, when it comes to the end of the album side you're working on, rather than automatically raise the needle up and return it to its home position (like what my Crosley would do), the turntable just stops dead. Then it starts again when you raise the needle to move it back to the home position so you can switch the album to the next side. If you're doing something else while recording, you have to keep an eye on it because Audacity will keep recording till you hit STOP.

Does a great job transferring vinyl to digital, but mute the crappy built in speakers, otherwise they create a sonic dissonance with your computer speakers. The onboard volume control only controls the onboard speakers, not the digital volume, which seems to be automatic. If you're planning on using this as a standalone record player, I'd invest in a pair of decent speakers. But it works fine for it's intended use.

I had a record player for 10 years that was a large all in one (CD, Radio, Aux, Phonograph, Tape), it finally started sounding a little dicey when I was listening to Fleetwood Mac Rumors album, which is obviously the main reason anyone needs a record player. In order to give the best album of all time the justice it deserved, I decided it was time for an upgrade. I bought a Crosley Player Turntable with USB Connection for about $80. Got it home, shocked by the light weight of the box, pulled it out, and realized it felt extremely cheaply made, but obviously, it's all about the sound. Hooked it up, started the record, and was painfully disappointed. Thought about hooking my old unit back up because it sounded better. The sound of the $80 Crosley couldn't make it across my small bedroom at full volume. It sounded horrible and weak, and was made poorly. Then I started reading reviews on Amazon for a unit Audiophiles would like that were affordable. My choice came down to three options, and this one won. I am so happy it did. The machine feels heavy and well made. I would say that it feel well made for a $150 unit, let alone the $50 that I paid for it. The dust cover closes over the record so you can close it while playing. It fit perfectly on my corner bookshelf that is 17in wide. The speakers in the front mean the sound projects perfectly where I need it to, and this thing is LOUD. The sound not only reached across my room (as it should) it reached down into another level of my house and sounded like a dream. Also, the song Dreams from the Fleetwood Mac Rumors album sounded like a dream on it, and honestly, I don't need much more from life than that. If you're shopping around, give this one a shot and you won't be disappointed. I will update this if anything happens to it in the future.
