One of the best Operating system Book ever written
Been using this for my Intro to Operating system class at Georgia Tech and I have to say this is a great book. It has been my favorite book to read.

Excellent book for self-learning
If you are looking for an introductory text for OS then this is it. This book goes in just the right amount of detail and it manages to simplify a seemingly difficult subject. While Galvin is a great book, its language is too dry in comparison to this book's interactive approach. In that way, it is quite similar to the Head First series.

Review for the copy - not the contents
I agree the book has lots of contents, but the text appears so squished and tight binding makes it difficult to read text in inner edges. Fun part - you can play treasure hunt by trying to locate where a chapter starts in the book - it's jumbled. I believe the book is not printed by an official publisher.Have read only few chapters so far in the book and I am enjoying it.

Don't buy kindle edition - it's FRAUD
The Kindle version I bought 3 days back for Rs. 449 is fake. It's not supported by Kindle devices. This is just a free PDF version converted to a Kindle edition. So, it will only open in the Kindle mobile app or computer app . It will be shown like a normal image, where you can't get any of the Kindle features. Amazon should immediately ban this seller from doing it and refund all the members who bought this Kindle version.

Does not work on any kindle or kindle app.
Does not open in kindle or any of the apps. Wonder why a kindle edition is being sold. I want a refund for this

It is not a real kindle book. They just scanned the physical book.
They didn’t create a true Kindle book; instead, they merely scanned the physical book. This means that instead of a digital format optimized for e-readers, with adjustable fonts and responsive layouts, what you’re getting is essentially a collection of images or unprocessed text. This approach lacks the interactive features and readability enhancements that are typical of genuine Kindle books. It can be clunky to navigate, difficult to search, and may even have errors or formatting issues from the scanning process. In essence, it’s a basic and less user-friendly experience compared to a properly formatted e-book.
