Great printer
Using the HP phone app the setup was a breeze as it walks you through every step, then adding it to my PC after this was easy as well, launch the PC HP app and add printer, the app found the printer on my network and had it ready to use in no time.I have it set to print using draft quality most of the time, which makes it pretty quick with good quality prints. However setting it to the best print quality and using photo paper for photos gives great results, however it does increase the print time considerably.I have not used the scanner other than the inital setups alignment process so I cant comment on that as of yet. It does hold a good amount of ink and I can imagine it lasting a good long while without needing to be refilled, and it does come with all the inks to fill the tanks and an extra black ink bottle too.

Brilliant for Home Use – Just Follow the Setup Carefully!
As an office manager used to large industrial printers, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a home colour printer but I’ve been really impressed with the HP Smart Tank 7605. It's a fantastic choice for home use if you take your time with the setup, which is straightforward if you’re patient and follow the instructions exactly, even down to removing the bits of internal packing cardboard in the right order. I recommend going straight to the HP website once it’s plugged in, as it’ll walk you through linking it to your Wi-Fi and handle most of the installation with helpful prompts. I also downloaded the app, and can also print direct from my iPhone too.Filling the ink is easy — just press the bottles down firmly until they click into place. Installing the print heads takes a bit of care to make sure they’re facing the right way, but again, the instructions guide you through it. Print quality is great, especially for colour and photos. It’s not lightning-fast (don’t expect office-grade speeds!), and it can be a little noisy and clunky, but for home projects, it does the job beautifully.A few tips:Keep it switched on 24/7 — it uses hardly any energy in standby mode, but this helps it stay updated and prevents the print heads and ink from drying out.Print a page once a week if it’s not in regular use, which stops it from drying out too.I bought the optional 3-year warranty for peace of mind — worth it at the sale price. It’s light enough to move around and compact enough to live happily in a corner of my kitchen. Overall, I’m really pleased. It’s a solid, well-designed printer with refillable ink tanks and smart features that make it a great investment for home use. The ink supplied should last for 6,000 pages and original refills are good value for money.

Quirky set-up, but lovin’ the ink tank system
It’s a nice printer and works well, but in typical HP fashion, it didnt quite set-up as per how the instruction describe it. Getting it to be recognised by the app was a faff, and to this day, although the printer is working perfectly (as far as I can tell), the app says the set-up is incomplete🤷🏼.I’ve marked it down a star because of these points, but generally, it’s not a bad printer at all, and the print quality is very good. I really like the ink tank system which is really easy to fill and should last a long time between fills. One thing for sure, it will definitely eliminate the old cartridge not recognised, or cartridge empty when you know it’s full type messages, experienced with my previous printers!Over-all, I’d recommend this printer to others, if you can put up with the quirks of set-up.

Excellent printer at a good price
I had problems setting up, the instructions seem clear and straightforward, internet connection was quick and easy. I had a problem fitting the ink tanks and phoned HO support, the tech help formed a view that the machine delivered might be defective and recommended returning to Amazon . Boxed it up and took to the post office for replacement, Amazon dispatched new device which set up easily enough. I like the new printer, it scans, copies, prints - all I need to do and it takes input from other devices. Good performance and value

Terrible software to the point the printer is potentially bricked
The physical hardware seems to be great, but the software is just utter trash. I managed to print successfully a test page using my computer across the network, which is the primary reason I bought it, but then I thought why not drag myself kicking and screaming into 2025 and try to print something from my phone. That was an entirely dreadful idea. The printer receives the job and says that it's printing, but then doesn't print. It just hangs forever until you shut it down. It's of course never actually shuts down because it thinks it's still doing a job. Which it isn't, so hold your thumb down on the power button until it finally dies and restart it and try again. It fails of course and so you decide to update the firmware to see if that will help, which can't be done from the printer settings, and can't be done from the HP software on your computer, you have to go into special menus in the software which eventually open a webpage where you can adjust settings on the printer from its IP address. If you make the mistake of trying to update the firmware it just hangs halfway through. I left it overnight to find it was still "updating" the following morning. With no choice but to hold down the power button it is now rebooting, but is stuck "verifying". I suspect it will be stuck like this forever, and I will now have to trawl through forums to figure out how to force the firmware update through USB.I don't know how it could be 2025, but printers even from gigantic manufacturers are still just completely toss. What a complete waste of several hours just to see if I could print from my phone.
