The Genuine Stuff at a Great Price for Everything from Mouthwash to Rodent Deterrent
This is excellent true peppermint oil -- very strong! I've seen 16 oz of pure peppermint oil for more than $100 from other online sellers, so this is a good deal. When buying peppermint oil, you need to make sure that it is true peppermint extract, and not some poor substitute. The Now brand gets it right. This is so strong that when I spray it in the veggie garden to keep pests off, I have to be careful not to get it on some tender leaves or it will actually burn them. At the same time, this is a pure product and I use a little in water as mouthwash. Be careful to add just a few drops to say, an 8 to 12 oz bottle. It is potent! Dip a finger and test a drop of your mixture on your tongue to see if you got it right. Too strong? Just add a little more (distilled or RO) water. Remember to shake your mixed bottle well before each use! This is peppermint OIL, and does separate (float on top) of the water. Also, peppermint oil will actually melt plastic -- better to use a glass container. We live in a wilderness area which can become overrun with rodents. Our two cats hunt the backyard (veggie garden and fruit trees) and the roof, but they can't control the mice in the rafters/attic, as it's all insulation up there, with a ceiling made of nothing more than sheetrock. I can't poison the attic because a rodent could eat the stuff, crawl outside, be consumed by one of the cats and poison it as well. I've tried rodent traps, but it's a pain to have to get the step ladder out and crawl up through the trapdoor to check them and re-bait every two or three days. Besides, they hardly make a dent in the rat party. At times, we've heard scratching and skritching all over the ceiling of our large ranch-style house. So I mix this peppermint oil in water -- 1/4 cup per gallon -- and spray it in the attic, and then outside, around wheels, undercarriage and engine compartments of various pieces of equipment (pickup truck, compact backhoe, ride-'em mower tractor, various carts and barrows). From time to time, especially when winter comes on, we get an infestation of field and kangaroo mice in the attic. I've even found chipmunks up there. I've had pest control check the roof and they can't even find the ingress point or points. I guess the builders should have paid way more attention to rodent-proofing when they were building, but it's too late now. Mice can get in through a crack no wider than a nickel. But the rat party ends after I haul myself into the rafters and spray enough peppermint oil to make dampen the R-30 insulation. Instantly, there's blessed peace overhead!Rodents more than dislike peppermint oil -- they are highly allergic. While neighbors have had vehicles incapacitated with expensive repair bills, ours, with peppermint wafting, are left alone. (I've been spreading the word to the neighbors as well). Field mice, pack rats and the various members of the squirrel clan, actually eat the insulation off wires and wreak all kinds of havoc under the hood. I just have to remember to respray at least every 60 days, and in the attic, deliver a good soaking, twice a year. For a few days, we get peppermint perfuming the house -- something we actually enjoy, and the rodents hate.I was spraying with your average $15 pump herbicide gallon spray bottle available at any hardware department or store -- the kind with the pump handle on top, and a wand to direct the spray. However, this was a pain in the attic. "Attic" may even be the wrong word. It's a difficult crawl space between the ceilings and the actual roof, with rafters to crawl through, dusty insulation laying on the sheetrock ceiling, where one wrong move would put a foot through it and a nasty repair to contemplate. It's tough to move around up there! I wear a breathing mask and goggles to keep the insulation dust out. Hauling around a pump bottle by hand is just miserable. In addition, I can only stay in the middle and highest points of the rafters, where I'm still crouched over. I need at least a 25 ft jet to get into the hard-to-reach areas around the edges. Recently I bought a Hudson 4 gallon bak-pak sprayer with brass fittings that makes it all a lot easier http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00H4DVPOG. Now I can mix up a big batch of peppermint, carry it on my back so my hands are free to climb, and and apply it with less hassle. If you're using a sprayer, between uses, wash it out with water a couple of times, and remember to spray some through the wand to at least dilute if not totally wash out the peppermint oil. Remember, this powerful product will melt plastic and the O-rings and fittings inside! In our opinion, the Now brand is an excellent and dependable product:Recommended!

Best brand
This brand is one of the best! True richly balanced scents. Reasonable pricing. Last for quite a while as I use it in a diffuser so a few drops does the trick! Along with lavender and bergamot, sends my migraines packing.

Great product ,and seller
This oil is pure and is the best peppermint oil I have purchased. I would also like to purchase a 16oz of Lavender oil but I'm unable to reach the seller. I asked a Amazon rep.but I can't understand what she is saying, India.

Mmmmmm, that wonderful strong smell of peppermint. The real deal
I can tell this is real peppermint oil because it smells like candy canes instead of menthol. It's strong too.

Powerful Stuff
This peppermint oil is strong! We bought it to forcibly evict unwanted residents (mice) in our home. Most people say to soak a cotton ball and place them throughout the house, but it left a mild Holiday aroma that I didn't feel was strong enough, so I abandoned that method and took a more direct approach (outlined below) that noticeably paid off. These Pros and Cons are based on the assumption you are using this oil to rid your home of pests. For normal use through a water reed dispenser or other oil dispenser, see someone else's review.Pros:- Very strong if used my way (probably not the 'correct' way)- Does not require a whole lot to be effective- Gets rid of mice and chipmunks- You can put it in an oil dispenser for the HolidaysCons:- I don't consider this stuff pet friendly when used incorrectly- Strength drops noticeably after 2-3 days (recommend reapplying on the 3rd or 4th day to keep continuous pest control)- Comes in a glass bottleI basically drilled a hole into the drywall where scratching noises came from (not to mention the occasional stench of a freshly dead mouse) and filled up a bulb syringe with the oil (the kind you use to remove mucus from a newborn's nose) and emptied it out into the wall.Within 2 hours, the aroma brought a burning sensation to my eyes and nose. My cat Leo was visibly agitated (he kept pawing at his eyes and you could see tears forming). We weren't even in the room that I treated. I had thought that shutting the door would have been enough to keep the smell contained. Needless to say, I had to wedge a towel under the door to prevent anymore fumes escaping into the rest of the basement and then relocated my cat to another area upstairs until the main area cleared. The strength of the peppermint scent diminished over the course of 2-3 days, so I reapplied a lesser amount on the 4th day. It's been about 6 weeks since I first applied peppermint oil to the inside of my walls and there have been no more scratching sounds, no more mouse droppings, and no more random small animals dying in unreachable places. I still have a little more than half a bottle (16 oz bottle). Meanwhile, we will have someone inspect the outside of the house to try and find / seal the entry point of the pests.

Smells so good
I've been looking for a high quality peppermint oil for a while now. Most don't smell right or have that cold heat when applied. This is great though. Clears the sinuses right up. Smells amazing. Feels refreshing and invigorating.
