Great Alternative to LEGO Baseplates!
These LEGO compatible baseplates were exactly what I needed. As a longtime LEGO collector and builder, I have a lot of printed and stickered tiles which I store on baseplates to make them easy to see. Previously, I used some older LEGO baseplates for this, but I wanted smaller ones that would fit in a small storage box. LEGO doesn’t sell 16x16 stud (5”x5”) baseplates anymore so I needed to find something else. I don’t usually buy non-LEGO brand brick products but for a storage solution, these baseplates from Brick Loot were perfect! They come packaged together in plastic and each baseplate within the larger package is individually wrapped in its own plastic sleeve. They come in a 10-pack with 4 colors (3 green, 3 light gray, 2 blue, and 2 tan), although I somehow received one extra tan (probably an accident on their part). The colors match very closely to LEGO colors. The blue and tan seem to match the closest and the green and gray are only slightly darker than LEGO. You can see in the photo where I compare the baseplates with a 2x2 LEGO tile of the same color. The color difference is very minor, no more than LEGO’s occasional color variation. You really have to look closely to see a difference.Since these are baseplates and not regular plates, the bottom side is flat, so you can’t connect anything to that side. The studs on top work very well with LEGO pieces. They do seem to grip the pieces slightly more than LEGO studs, but not too much. The pieces can still be easily removed without excess force and without damaging the pieces. The difference is very subtle and most people are unlikely to notice a difference. The greater grip seems to be caused in part by the studs being more squared off on the edges, compared to LEGOs slightly rounded studs. The thickness of the baseplates is slightly thinner than LEGO baseplates, but not that much. If you place them next to a LEGO baseplate and bridge the gap with a piece, they work fine. The difference in thickness is maybe the thickness of a sheet of paper, if that. It’s very minor. They also seem a little more rigid than LEGO baseplates but they still flex a little bit. So far, they seem quite durable and should last a long time.Overall, this is an excellent product and I would highly recommend it if you are looking for a cheaper alternative to LEGO baseplates. As a LEGO brand purist (I only use LEGO brand parts in my builds), I will probably not use these for building unless I plan to cover all the studs, but for my tile storage solution, they are perfect. For anyone else who doesn’t worry about brand, these will work great for any brick project or play you may have.

The perfect size for our little Lego builders!
The kids loved the baseplates! They work perfect with our regular Lego brand. I was a bit hesitant to order an off brand, but I'm glad we did.The quality of the plates are top of the line. The plates are sturdy, not flimsy. The colors were a hit with our son and daughter! Right away they said the blue was water, the green was grass, the tan was sand, and the gray was space. We received 3 gray, 3 green, 2 tan, and 2 blue. A perfect amount since we definetly need more grass and space in our building projects! The packaging was awesome! I was impressed how each plate was individually wrapped in its own sleeve and they all fit together stacked in another sleeve. The way it was packaged makes it perfect for wrapping as a gift. These plates are the perfect size for building. Our kids often make smaller, quick creations.... they loved the 5x5 size and have used them non stop for days! These are definetly going on our list for stocking stuffers and birthday party gifts!Thank you Brick Loot for making an affordable baseplate for our Legos!

Just what we needed
I got these to make Lego stations for my 6th graders. These were perfect to make different Lego designs/pictures on. After shopping around a bit these were the best priced and work perfectly. My own kids, 3,10 and 7 are constantly using the ones I did not take to my classroom. Also saved us a long trip to the Lego store. There are perfect for building!

THE KIDS LOVED THEM!!
Want to make a big hit with twenty or so Second Graders? Start with a gift of Lego-like bricks, a few sets of tires, windows, doors are included. So, open the box, grab and rip the package, turn them loose and stand back and watch what comes out of the mind of a group of 7-year old children. Fantastic - and so are the products purchased just in time for the last day of class (before Christmas). What did I do wrong? I didn't order enough, so I'll have to go back to get more. So order enough and yeah, get enough base plates.Oh yeah, were they worth the money? I would say yes - the molding was accurate, colors appealing and the doors and windows and so forth were sturdy, well-selected and I was amazed at the quickness of the kids to put them together.Ray Toronjo.

Worked great!
While we usually buy only Lego, we were using this as part of a science project so this made it actually affordable! I found that regular Lego bricks stick to these just as well as to a normal Lego plate--no problems at all. (Keep in mind this is a base plate so Legos will not stick to the bottom--just the same as with a Lego base plate) We actually purchased another set to ensure we had enough for our project.

Great baseplates!
Really impressed with these baseplates. Yes, they're not "real" branded, but especially for the price they're FANTASTIC. I like that they're not so completely rigid - they're thinner than some other brands we've had. They're actually easier to work with, since they have a bit of give to them. They fit PERFECTLY with all our LEGO bricks, so no worries there.

Great for base but not for a roof
These can only be used for a base not for a roof. The bottom of the price is not made to accommodate attaching to another Lego . We were planning on making buildings with levels using these for the floors but you can’t. Very frustrating.
