Slicence is golden
Wish I got this ages ago. What a difference in sound. Nearly silent now just the fans purring in the background. I can now finally print 24/7. Couldn't be happier ☺️

Easier than I'd feared
Phew! Well, I was a little nervous about fitting this having read some of the other reviews, but all's well (so far).I removed the old board having taken photos of the wiring. I found it easier to fit some of the thicker (power) wires before affixing the new motherboard as the leads are quite short and/or unwieldy, which would've made it difficult inserting them into an immobile board in a confined space. Admittedly it doesn't look right having the board hanging off wires, but I've found it to be a reasonable approach in a pinch. One thing I'm still not 100% sure about are the plug-in fan connections, but I plugged the motherboard cooling fan into the connector nearer to the edge of the board. Before switching on, I wanted to ensure I had the right firmware available. The printer I upgraded is an Ender 3 Pro with NO auto-levelling probe. In this case, I extracted "Ender-3 Pro- Marlin2.0.1 - V1.0.1 - TMC2225 - English.bin" from a ZIP file I downloaded from the Creality web site (owing to Amazon's review rules, I can't quote the URL, but you'll find the ZIP file if you look for "Ender-3 pro 4.2.7 mainboard firmware (32 bit)" on the Creality website's download page; at the time it was dated 16 Jan. 2021). In my case, the file was in the "Ender-3 pro 4.2.7 mainboard firmware(32 bit)\Marlin2.0.1 V1.0.1 original version TMC2225" folder of the ZIP file.Maybe I was being dim, but I couldn't find clear instructions about where to put the binary image, so just copied it onto the root of a micro-SD card (i.e. not in a folder) in the hope that the motherboard would find it and take the appropriate action. On switching on the printer, the screen lit up but, alarmingly, remained blank. Luckily I realised that the bootloader (-?) was probably flashing the image I'd put onto the uSD card, otherwise I might've turned it off prematurely, possibly bricking the processor. Sure enough, the menu appeared after a few seconds. (So, please be patient!).I 'auto-homed' the print head and - wow! - it IS practically inaudible. The mechanism silently and mysteriously adjusted itself and I was able to set about levelling the bed. It really is a joy to print something without having to listen to what normally sounds like a group of kids practicing the violin in a wind tunnel. I presume the stepper motor control is more refined with this new board. Now I just need to find quieter fans! So, be careful handling the board. Ideally earth yourself, but certainly hold the boards by the edges or some non-conductive parts. Removing the connectors from the outgoing board was difficult because - I later realised - something like hot melt glue had been used to secure them. You might try picking the glue off first. I'm keeping the old board (in the static-protection packaging) in case of problems and I suggest you do the same (it doesn't take up much space). Again, don't panic if the screen is blank when you first switch on. Anyway, good luck and happy printing!

Works as expected, worthwhile upgrade.
needed to upgrade to use auto BL touch. Easy to fit and makes it so much quieter than before.

Not happy! Followed instructions but not working. Support not respondign
I’m sad to say that I’m really unhappy with this product at this moment in time.I did a great research online regarding the circuit board and watch multiple videos of individuals installing the item on various versions of the end of three, including the end of three max which is what I have, and all having installed firmer we were able to use the circuit board right out the box.I’ll follow the instructions to the letter, however, the QR codes on the instruction manual which were set to link to videos were broken so they weren’t much help. Luckily, the cables fitted exactly in the corresponding socks from my old 4.2.2 circuit board.Having performed a firmware install and on the printer also normal until I tried to auto home the printer, this results in the printer, but at least 3 inches away from the file left of the Print bed. I also am using the CR touch which was also past the firmer update. When I tried to calibrate the CR touch and perform levelling the fact that the head will not home to the right location means that it will do two levelling points and the third one is off the bed to the furthest right of the printer.Having looked at multiple areas of the creality website for support and looked at multiple blogs online and YouTube videos. I decided to get in touch with creality support online. It is now been a week and I’ve still heard nothing back from crealities support team, this is very disappointing. I’m now at the point where I’m having to reinstall my old motherboard which I know works and have a motherboard on my desk which is £38 and is effectively a glorified paperweight for the time being.Of this point, I’ve been quite happy with creality however, selling upgrade items and then not offering any kind of technical support within reasonable time is not acceptable. Hopefully they read this feedback and get in touch via Amazon.

as near to silent as I could have hoped
I needed this because the printer started to cut out mid print and I thought it was due to the main board (it was, this fixed it). This would have been 5 stars if there was any guidance included for how to install the USB drivers for the board. As it was, with some googling, I managed to get my computer to talk with the printer, but it took a bit of time and was a little frustrating. The installation was a little fiddly and some of the connectors aren't exactly 1:1 (so pay attention when unplugging stuff from the old board!). The steppers are now so quiet that the only noise you can really hear from the thing comes from the fans. (Ender 3). Really a fantastic upgrade for the price.

A good upgrade for Ender 3s
This is the 2nd one that I have bought, the first is in my Ender 3 pro and was a replacement for the original noisy 4.2.2 board. This one has gone in an Ender 3 Max which had a silent 4.2.2 board. The difference is pretty easy to spot. The old board only had silent drivers on the x and y axis and so the z axis and extruder were still quite loud. It also improves print quality as the extrusion is smoother and there are less zits and wavy lines on vertical surfaces.Fitting the board is not too difficult if you are pretty handy with wiring but be warned the Creality supplied firmware is barely acceptable. IF you are technically minded compiling your own Marlin or Klipper firmware is not too difficult and there are some good web pages that explain how to do this and set up bed levelling properly. Once you have done this the upgrade can make a massive difference on a well set up printer and this is why I have recommended it.
