CAP Barbell 2-Inch Olympic Weight Plate | Multiple Options

Purchased the 2" Olympic 10lb ×4 set on the Prime Day Deal for$41.64 Current price at the time of this review is $48.99. First things first. CAP knows how to protect their items very well. This weight set arrived nested in not 1, not 2 but inside 3 boxes! Each plate protected inside plastic with a sheet of styrofoam material between each layer as well as styrofoam along the edges inside the final box. As for the weight plates themselves. They're similar to the ones found in your local Walmart store if you're familiar with those. The style is slightly different but appears to be made out of the same materials. Each weight weighed in approximately 10.2lbs - 10.4lbs on my scale at home. The only gripes I could come up with are miniscule to me personally. The silver paint quality on the letters & numbers is very poor. Like child labor meets school for the visually impaired poor. It pretty much flaked off to the touch which may be a good thing bc you could repaint it yourself at that point. The other negative is if you're a super serious lifter & super anal about the weight being EXACT. Other than those two tiny negatives, I'd gladly recommend these to you.

These are great 2 1/2 lb weights. They are good quality and will help with incremental increases in my home gym. I am happy with the product.I am taking off a star though because I am irritated about the stickers they put on the plates. They don’t come off easily. I can probably scrape them off with a razor blade or something, but it pisses me off that I have to. I know it doesn’t matter in how they function, but I hate it. I want to take off more stars but am trying to be fairUpdate:I couldn’t get the stickers off with a razor blade but my wife told me to use GOO GONE. It worked perfectly, the plates are now sticker-free. Also they smell like orange air freshener now, which is fine.I have calmed down about the stickers and am happy about the plates now so I added back the star I subtracted. I was probably just being autistic, sorry

I've recently gotten back into weight lifting at home, and these 45lb plates have been perfect for my setup. They're sturdy, well-made, and I especially appreciate the open hand grips around the edges.The grips make it easier to move the plates around and also open up more options for different exercises beyond just loading them onto a barbell. They’ve quickly become a key part of my routine.I'll definitely be picking up more plates in the future as I continue to expand my home gym.

I purchased a set of four 5 lb plates and two 10 lb plates to supplement my current collection, which starts at 20 lbs. These smaller plates are perfect for making gradual progress, especially when heavier jumps aren’t doable for me.While weight plates are a fairly straightforward product, I was impressed enough to leave a review because of the excellent packaging. Each plate was individually sealed in plastic, separated by foam sheets to prevent any scuffing between the plates, and cushioned on all corners with thick foam blocks. The entire set was double boxed and tightly secured with straps. Good quality and attention to detail in packaging!The plates themselves look great—clean, evenly coated, and well finished. And considering how pricey weight plates can be, I found the pricing to be very reasonable.I’ll definitely return to CAP Barbell for future weight purchases as my training progresses.

These plates are great for home gym use. I own a dozen 45s and several 25s and 10s. I've also been training in commercial gyms for decades and seen all types of plates and equipment. These are perfectly solid plates for home use. Ignore those reviewers that say stuff like, "the edges aren't perfectly smooth" or "they smelled strange" or "I weighed a plate and it was only 44.90 lbs". Weights and weight training equipment is like anything else....take care of it and it will last and last and last. Over time they'll get little knicks or scuffs, but that's normal wear and tear.

You get what you pay for, I wanted “weight is weight” for my loadable dumbbells, I almost bought the good version, but for now, I thought this is fine. At just over $1/lb with tax, they are cheap, not just price, but quality. They come in and there are sharp edges to cut your fingers on the opening in the center and very uneven metal work as well. But 15-20 minutes with the Dremel sander and I have relatively smooth edges to slide onto my dumbbell sleeves without completely destroying them, but they’re also quite loose on a 2” dumbbell handle. I haven’t weighed them, but I will have gotten what I paid for, I decided to Spend $40, not $150-220 for these 40lbs. They were a bit worse than I expected, even with the reviews, but for now, it’s fine, they may end up as just weight just adding a big more security to racks or machines, but for now, I needed some weight.They’re great for what they are, be prepared to cut yourself mar your barbell or dumbbell, or do some sanding when they come, but there was no way this would’ve taken 2 hours as another reviewer said.

It is a iron weight plate so you know what you're getting. The weight feels accurate and was a good addition to the home gym.
