The C Programming Language (2nd Edition) Book by two renowned computer scientists Brian W. Kernighan and Dennis M. Ritchie is one of the best books on C. It covers all the aspects of the programming language, including descriptions about many features which even an experienced C programmer might not know about. In addition to this, the book also focuses on what common mistakes programmers make while writing a C program, and teaches the reader the correct implementations of the same. There are a few program-related questions at the end of many topics which help the reader understand the concepts better.This book is, however, not meant for those who do not have any previous experience with programming languages which are similar to C (for example: C++, C#, Java, Rust, etc.)

Nice for all who are beginners and have some dream regarding CS, GATE ..etc..all the basics are explained nicely..some place it is hard to understand but at end is it fantastic boo

This book is holy bible of programmers. If you are buying it, read it carefully, it will be useful throughout most of your career.

Despite of all those technical goodness... it is an emotion. Unavoidable. If you some how related to the C programming then read this book for fun and profit

People keep reading this book even decades after it was written. And they are right.This is the best book to learn archaic C. Get your basics right and get introduced to the language in the right way.One author of this book is the creator of the C Programming Language.The book does not spoon feed and an average or below average student with no programming experience might find it difficult to read this book. But if you believe in the hacker's approach, an adavanced student and/or experienced in some other languages, this is the best book for you. Otherwise read Kanitkar or Balaguruswamy.This book provides challenging problems after each chapter. And by solving those, you can learn a lot.This is the best book to get introduced to C. But if you already have knowledge about C, and want to write production ready code, there are other modern books written on this topic.I strongly recommend this book.

The book itself is great and intuitive to teach you C programming and also could be used as a reference manual, The issue is that the book was sent damaged and the cover was not in a good condition, Pearson group also could have kept the neat classic cover which is sold in the west instead of the ugly green cover.

I got this book today and will again mention that this book is not for beginners. It will not teach you how to run programs or what is a compiler or what compilers do we have in different systems. This book will just teach you the C programming concepts. Each topic is written very briefly but in very simple and easy to understand language. This book have lot to offer but because each topic is discussed briefly some may find it little hard to understand some topics. And is heavily based on Unix systems. These are some of the reasons why this book is not for beginners. Even the book itself mention that. Also there are several good comments that discuss in more depth about this book.I already know the C basics including pointers so the reason I bought this book is for the last chapter The Unix System Interface. No other C book have that.
