The only kefir stater with L.Reuteri !
This is easy to mix and make kefir, and it also has the L. Reuteri probiotic along with the other ones that come in most kefir starters. I do not make kefir all the time, and with the starter, you do not have to worry about keeping grains alive if you are not making kefir. I use kefir in my Ninja Creami to make ice cream with, and this starter makes delicious kefir, and you can reuse each one several times before you need a new starter packet.

Yummy
Works if you use the directions provided. Makes delicious, mild yet effervescent kefir. I left mine out for a bit over 24 hours, it was nice and thick. I used an emersion blender to smooth it out. Great option for people wanting to make their own kefir but don't have the time to care for grains.

Learning curve, but works eventually
The directions are simple enough, heat the milk at 180, cool to 77 and then add the kefir starter, mix and wait. My first try went for 2 days and never changed, didn't get thick. My second try went for 2 days, same thing, but I forgot about it and left it on the counter. 2 more days passed and I noticed it separated, and the top was thick, the bottom was whey. But because I had left it out so long I wasn't going to taste it. My third try finally produced a thicker kefir after 24 hours. It's kind of like a runny yogurt. I'm wondering if my house was too cold the first 2 tries and that's why it took so long.

Easy to mix and clear directions
The kefir starter powder came in a reclosable storage bag and was individually wrapped with no leaks or oozing. The directions are clear and easy to follow. The powder wrapping was easy to open and the powder didn't have any clumping. It was easy to mix and the kefir tasted smooth and fresh. It has a slightly milky scent.

Easy Vegan Kefir!
This review is for the Coolinario L Reuteri Kefir Starter Powder (10-Pack, 1g Sachets). I am new to fermenting kefir so I searched online and found that you can use this starter powder to make plant-based or vegan kefir so that is what I set out to do. Note that you should not use pasteurized nut milks that come from the store, you need to make your own in order to then make kefir. I made 1 quart of warm coconut milk from water and shredded coconut. I blended in a single Medjool date since kefir needs sugar to feed on. Then I poured this into a glass carafe and stirred in the Kefir Starter Powder with a wooden spoon (never use metal when making kefir). I covered the carafe and waited 24 hours. I stirred the mixture a few times while it was fermenting. Then I put the kefir in the refrigerator. Wow, it was great! It was fizzy and sour in a good way. So easy to make! It is my understanding that you can continue to make vegan kefir using your homemade kefir by using 1/4 cup of it added to 3-3/4 cup of nut milk and fermenting for 24 hours. You can do this a few times before the kefir organisms peter out. That would then make this a very economical way to have kefir.
