Good alternator for the money
DB seems to make good products, so I ordered this alternator for a 2000 Ford Excursion 7.3. Currently, I have a local (national) parts store reman installed and have went thru 3 in a year. I haven't installed this yet, but for the price it is a good unit for a back-up.

Update: 12 3 2020: On the 1999 Ford SuperDuty 7.3 Diesel, the alternator has a requirement that wasn't being met. In addition to having 12V on the Battery and orange Field wire, it must have some voltage on the GREEN "idiot light" wire. If your "battery Lite" on the dash does not light when you turn on the key, this is could be the problem and why your alternator does not work. Jumping momentarily with 12v to the green wire while the alternator was turning started it working. This was required voltage was discovered by placing the new alternator in a working truck (where it also worked) and comparing the difference. The working truck had only .25 Volts on the green wire. Now to find the original root cause and fix the original issue as the only component in this circuit is the "battery" light and resister. My guess is a loose connection or broken wire.I could not find any technical support at DB Electrical, but their sales team did try to help.I am now very satisfied with this product and very pleased it was less than 40% of a local rebuilt unit.On my 3rd alternator from this company and none have worked. They are all DOA. 12V on the orange field wire and the battery wire, but no output, even at 2500 RPM. Don't waste your time or money. Amazon has been great about returning for refund.

Installation was a snap, works good
Installation was a snap, works good so far. Obviously we shall see how it lasts over the months. I will - as usual - provide a 6 months feedback update.

Factory fit but won’t kick up charge at idle
This alternator was priced right, fit perfect and charges well . . . EXCEPT when I first start my diesel and idles. The charge does not kick up past 12v until I start driving and engine rpm rises up to about 2,000 RPM. The alternator then starts kicking out 14v or so and will then maintain that charge even when RPM drops back to idle. There is something weird about why it won’t start charging until hits higher RPM and then it’s “magic switch” is triggered. I have never had an alternator do that before.
